The Rubin International In-Kind Contribution program is now under way, with international partners offering new resources to US researchers in exchange for LSST data rights for named individuals in their communities. The In-Kind program will be featured in two sessions at the Project and Community Workshop 2021:
-
On Tuesday, August 10, at 13:15 PDT, the International In-Kind Program Coordination team will host a session on “How to Make and Receive In-Kind Contributions”. Dr. Phil Marshall and the IPC team will provide updates on progress towards Data Rights Agreements for accepted contributions and present highlights from the recently released Manual for In-Kind Contributions, which is a guide to the implementation process for In-Kind Contributions. The session is aimed at In-Kind contributors, recipient groups, and anyone wishing to learn how the In-Kind program will work in practice. Zoom Slack: #day2-tue-slot4d-workshop-in-kind

On Thursday, August 12, at 13:15 PDT, the IDACs Coordination Group will host a session on “Independent Data Access Centers”, which are a type of In-Kind Contribution that will expand US access to computing, storage, and data access resources during Rubin operations. The session is aimed at IDAC contributors, LSST Data Management, and any interested potential users of IDACs. IDAC providers are invited to submit a slide for the session in advance (contact Knut Olsen), and anyone may submit a question for discussion at the session through the session Slack channel ( #day4-thu-slot4c-idacs).
