The 18th major release of the Photon Simulator (PhoSim) is completed, tagged, and validated and is called PhoSim v5.3.

There are several features that may be of interest to DM including the reduction in setup time by a factor of 4, a variety of ab initio atmospheric updates, and simplification of inputs. Also of interest is the 16 tutorials that get a new user doing complex tasks in an afternoon.
