I suspect that these cases are relatively rare. Would it be ok to simply (allow to) use the // clang-format off
directive for those cases?

Iām not too unhappy about permitting some machine-achievable standard, but to require all developers to run a tool as part of their workflow seems to me to be adding viscosity to an already slow system. This is especially true for people who usually work on python but need to do some C++.
And no, I do not believe that this new tidiness will magically add to our velocity.
I didnāt weigh in earlier as I didnāt think it was important enough to waste time on. I still donāt, but itās also not worth fighting.
